This course is compulsory for all students in the master programs Biology and Medical Biology. All assignments that need to be uploaded and the accompanying workload (ects) are embedded within other parts of the master program. An overview of obligatory content of the portfolio by the end of the master program can be found on the blackboard page of this course (all master students will be enrolled automatically at the start of the year). Instructions for these assignments will be given at the start of the master program, and will be availiable on the blackboard page.
The portfolio assignments can be divided into two groups:
Assignments during the introductory courses.
These assignments are embedded within the introductory courses Orientation in Biology and Environmental Sciences (NWI-BM036A) and Trends in Medical Biosciences (NWI-BM042B). These assignments lead to the creation of a Master Plan making the student aware of the options availiable during the master. The Master Plan assignments will be read by the master study advisor.
Assignments before and after a master research internship.
Before the master internship begins an application letter should be written and sent to the preferred internship department. After the internship the student has to write a Master's View which is a non-scientific reflection on the internship. These assignments will be read and commented upon by the first evaluator. Completion of both these assignments is compulsory for receiving a result for the master research internship. Details on the assignments can be found on the blackboard page of the master portfolio biosciences.
The assignments are also integrated into the procedure master research internship document which should be read by all students before starting to look for an internship. This document can be found on the following page: http://www.radboudnet.nl/studentsscience/requests-forms-graduation/internship-thesis-assessment-forms/(medical)-biology/
