Aims
  • The student understands the fundamental definitions of cooperative and non-cooperative game theory and the basic theorems in this context,
  • The student is able to recognize situations where strategies can be analyzed using game theoretic methods,
  • The student knows about the strengths and weaknesses of different models and solution concepts, and
  • The student is able to make elementary calculations with these models.
Content
This course is an introduction to the basic concepts of cooperative and non-cooperative game theory. It will cover several mathematical models and solution concepts for decision problems and questions about strategic behavior in situations of conflict or cooperation. For example, the Nash equilibrium and the Shapley value will be discussed.
