This advanced seminar will provide an introduction to derived categories and homotopy categories. These notions are highly relevant for several mathematical areas including Algebraic Geometry and Algebraic Topology. The topics that are covered will include derived categories, triangulated categories and model categories. Following a seminar program with detailed references that will be prepared by the teachers, successful participation in this course will require participants to give a presentation of 90 minutes length. The talks will be distributed before the start of the semester.
